Full-length LP of incoherent, rhapsodic, literally futile black metal. Continuing the march toward insignificance that the project embarked upon by its debut in 2019, The Magic Mountain is an eroded, wan artifact of a rheumatic brain stuck in loops of decay and torpor. Like the novel which inspired it, the album proselytizes on behalf of Man’s twin predators, illness and time, through the use of repetition and melodic excursus. This is exhausted music intended for loud speakers, glazed eyes, and stale tobacco consumption. Mastered by the inimitable Travis Nordahl.
