For anyone who
Has lost a loved one.
Is grieving a friendship.
Is dealing with heartbreak.
Is mourning the loss of a pet.
Has lost their home.
Is grieving their old self after receiving a diagnosis
And is afraid of a future that seems unsure.
Is mourning their inner child.
Believes they will never love again
And will never be loved again.
Is mourning broken family bonds
Or has never had a family to begin with.

Grief is part of life.
But it leaves us changed and lost.

We travel along with our hero,
As they encounter various forms of grief.
After conquering their initial heartbreak
They seek shelter in an abandoned castle ruin
Which they remember from tales told by their ancestors.
Climbing up the steep path
Their legs get heavy as does their heart.
From atop the castle they see a valley where a blue river flows.
Sunlight glistening on the surface,
Hopefully sparkling.
And as they ponder this natural marvel
They let the grief wash over them
Like blueish glistening water in a riverbed.
